A heritage of Pennsylvania Dutch and Lenni-Lenapee (Delaware) Indian combines to create sense of history and a deep instinctive understanding of the land and the natural environment. This translates to a love that can be seen in the artist's work, be it in oils, watercolor, pen and ink illustrations, or the favorite medium, clay. There is a spiritual component in taking a lump of clay, molding, shaping and giving it life through fire. All senses are involved in the creation and the finished piece. Whatever medium used, it must reflect and enhance the nature of the each piece to capture the soul, personality and innate spark of the subject matter.
